The Emerson Public Library offers the Children of Emerson, entering Preschool through 6th Grade, a variety of programs & events encouraging them to practice their reading abilities throughout the summer with an engaging theme.

Most Events are Open to the Children of Emerson Only, Entering Grades Pre/K-6.
Select events are open to all families.
Registration is required online, drop-in welcome for Afternoon Storytime and Movies.

Track Reading Goals Online! Children of Emerson Entering Grades PreK-6th are encouraged to join our program and practice their reading abilities throughout the summer with a theme.
Track your child’s progress via the Reader Zone App while logging in books online. To register, visit our Home Page and use the code 430a8 to track reading progress, June 1st - August 31st.
Earn an invitation to the Ice Cream Social!
Must have participated in the "Unearth a story" Summer Reading Program. Open to Families of Emerson Only.
This event will be outdoors with an ice cream truck visit by the Ice Cream Lady LLC! There will be dairy, gluten and nut free options.
Followed by a Dino Party in the Program Room!

The Library is pleased to offer Families a suggested reading list for newborns and children entering Preschool through Grade 6! Available to download or pick up at the Library.

A Storywalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.

Reading Challenges, PreK-6
Let’s be a Paleontologist! Follow the bones and color in every dinosaur footprint you complete. For every 3rd dinosaur scratched off, put in a raffle ticket at the Library for the chance to win a prize! Pick up your Challenge at the Library today!

Join Magician and Family Entertainer Steve Woyce as he transforms our library into a magical dinosaur museum to unearth funny and amazing stories! Registration Opens June 1st at 10am!

Join BOLD Yoga from Bendy Bookworm!
Bold Yoga is a virtual studio for Libraries. This service supports patrons in creating healthy, mindful lifestyles by making classes available on their time, offering fitness classes for all different ability levels. Includes Bendy Bookworm Kids videos!

Join The Bookworm Book Club!
Ideal for Ages 3-8. You will receive a monthly book list that has been personally read, approved, and curated by a Children's Librarian!
But there’s more! Monthly scratch-off pages with an image for each one of the suggested books read. A coloring page picture frame for each month, and a monthly challenge letter.
